I See Your True ColorsYou’re a Gem is a content museum produced by Larissa Loden Jewelry in Minneapolis Minnesota in conjunction with Fashion Week MN and Art-A-Whirl. All proceeds were donated to NEEMA.My installation was based on the theme, Your A GEM and represents a prism. I See Your True ColorsFeeling: Magical, energetic, uplifting, whimsicalConcept: Inspired by the classic Cindi Lauper song, this colorful space will not only insight magic but also be uplifting in its message. We all have beauty inside, a special something that we are meant to share with the world. By owning our special gifts and letting our true colors shine we are making the world a better place. The space will allow each attendees' shadow/silhouette to become a rainbow which will be interactive, letting their “colors” show.Room: Through the doorway you will be drawn to the words “I see your true colors” installed on the opposite focal point wall. They will be laser cut out of white acrylic in a modern type and set off of the wall. They will appear to be outlined by color (pink blue and yellow) which will be the result of the letters casting shadows which are reflected in colored light.Immediately as you enter the space you will be taken underneath a magical installation of geometric shapes resembling gem fractals. They will be arranged in a rainbow shape spanning from one side of the room to the other letting the center of the room be a walkway toward the focal point wall with the colored lights/letters. The colors of mainly pink, yellow and blue (with some variation) will be arranged in typical ROYGBIV order in a color blocked manner.Lighting: The room will need to be a bit dim for the shadows to show bright. With all of the bulbs in the room changed to either red, green, yellow or blue, the mix of the colored light and shadows, including the transparent neon acrylic shape installation, will create colorful reflections through the room (floor and walls).Gallery installation by Araya Jensen 2019Materials: Colored Plexiglass + Mixed Light
